Solares Inc. was founded on October 2, 2003 and is co-owned by Mathew Emmatty and Robert M. Zotti. Mathew and Robert first met about 5 years ago while working for JPMorgan. Oddly enough it was not investment banking that helped to forge a friendship but rather an extreme passion for real estate. Robert moved on to the other house of Morgan in July of 2000 but they kept in touch from time to time often discussing different real estate opportunities. On September 15, 2002 Robert resigned and began to venture into the entrepreneurial world. Unknown to Robert, his friend and former colleague Mathew had taken a similar plunge by turning down an attractive position with JPMorgan in London. In November of 2002 Mathew was helping his father in-law with a renovation project when his wife said “Why don’t you call Robert to see if he can help us out.”. Trading a suit and tie in for a hammer and lots of band-aids, the six month renovation project quickly came to an end. While Mathew’s father in-law inherited crooked walls and too much grout between tiles, Mathew and Robert formed an incredible friendship.

The vision for Solares is to delicately couple the most high tech Spa ever created with an environment that provides the ultimate in relaxation for the mind body and soul. The terracotta tiles and sun mosaic were purchased from a small town outside of Naples and flown to the United States. Our serenity rooms are made of glass and become opaque upon locking of the doors. After months of searching for lighting, we are proud to feature techlighting.com throughout our Spa. The Hydro, Spray, and UV beds are all market leaders. Solares also features free internet access on several wireless laptops. We soften all of the glass and metal Spa features with walls bathed in honey yellow and the scattering of various potted plants. All of this means nothing unless our clients, our Hoboken neighbors, are happy. Some of our friends think we are crazy for placing such an expensive emphasis on the environment in a service business that lasts only minutes. While it is true that the implementation costs of this Spa are 4-5 times more than that of a similarly sized competitor, we respectfully disagree. In addition, Solares clients are not going to pay above market prices for our products or services. If our goal was to separate people from their dollars as quickly as possible and send them on their way, we would not offer the use of computers as a free service. The use of these machines is not contingent upon any purchase that day or in the future. If you have bought anything from Solares in the past, you are welcome to this service at any time. Matt and I believe that our success today and tomorrow lies with the continual creative evolution of Solares. We are asking each of you to become not only our clients but also our partners by providing ongoing criticism. With your help we know we can create something special.
